Zoe Leonard’s provocative reading, I want a president, was written in 1992 about the disconnect many people feel between their own life experiences and those of the political elite. It was just as relevant in 2016, when the text was installed as a public art work on the High Line shortly before the 2016 election, where it resonated with scores of visitors. The silkscreened tote has a Velcro closure and inside zipper pocket.
