Walking the High Line

Walking the High Line

When acclaimed photographer Joel Sternfeld published the first edition of "Walking the High Line" in 2001, his beautiful, contemplative images introduced the public to this abandoned, otherworldly landscape for the first time. This stunning collection of High Line landscape photographs by a true American master was instrumental in gaining support for the eventual preservation of the High Line.

Sternfeld, a longtime supporter of the High Line, is known for his large-format documentary photographs and has many works in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Getty Center in Los Angeles.

This hardcover third edition of "Walking the High Line" includes a new timeline of the High Line project, as well as essays by Adam Gopnik and John Stilgoe.
